We are honored and overjoyed to walk with you through this sacred milestone.
What We Believe at Love Leads Church
At Love Leads Church, we believe in baptism by full immersion in water — not merely as a church doctrine or religious obligation, but as a sacred covenant that marks your commitment to walk with Christ throughout your journey of faith.
It is your outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual transformation that has already taken place in your heart. As Romans 6:4 says, "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." (NIV)
This scripture captures the heart of baptism by immersion. Going under the water symbolizes your death and burial with Christ — your old life of sin laid to rest. Coming up from the water symbolizes your resurrection with Him — a new creation, raised to walk in newness of life. Full immersion is not just the method we practice; it is the complete picture of the Gospel itself.
Scriptural Foundation
The practice of baptism by immersion is deeply rooted in Scripture. In Matthew 3:16, we see Jesus Himself baptized by John — going down into and coming up out of the water. In Acts 8:38–39, Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch both went down into the water for baptism. And in Colossians 2:12, Paul affirms that in baptism we are "buried with him and raised with him through your faith in the working of God." Immersion is not incidental — it is intentional, biblical, and covenantal.
